The Company is in charge of safe supply, sale and service of gas in a region on the west of Huangpu River and the south of Suzhou Creek in Shanghai . The service area covers Huangpu, Luwan, Xuhui, Jing'an and Minghang districts. In the Company there are 7 business regional offices, 13 service network points, 3 pipeline management stations and 3 gas storage and distribution stations. During the tenth Five Year Plan period, as the basic management of gas transmission and distribution was strengthened, people-oriented service was insisted on and the activities of safe application of gas were carried out in a variety of forms, the Company was awarded the honorable title of “Model Unit” for several times, making a great contribution for establishing a civilized trade.

During the tenth Five-Year Plan period, the Company worked out various contingency preplans of rush repairs and accident handling gradually and set up a command center for contingency and rush repairs initially. The systems of maintenance and inspection rounds of pipeline were established to guarantee the safe operation of pipeline network. All gateway stations of natural gas have been involved into SCADA system by means of scientific and technical measures and dynamic control has been accomplished within GIS system.

The Company actively popularizes the experience of safety coordination network obtained in Changning district and concluded safety agreements with 51 towns, neighborhoods and industrial zones in its service area. Working standards of safety inspection for gas have been worked out and the activities of safe application of gas are carried out in a variety of forms. The long-term effective management mechanisms of gas alarm in basement has been set up preliminarily and great efforts have been made to control the occurrence of gas accident in society.

The Company has adopted a variety of user-friendliness measures in service. Various remote services have been accomplished through the network of user information platform. The renovation of operational process in the Company has been finished and the installation period and repairing time of gas are shortened.
