Based on the general balance state of gas supply, there are 450,000 users converted to using natural gas during 2001-2006, and the users of natural gas was increased from 55,600 in 2001 to 591,900 in 2006, with an annual average growth rate of over 50%. The sales volume of natural gas rose from 21 million cubic meter in 2001 to 268 million cubic meter in 2006 with an annual average growth rate of up to 80%. Meanwhile during the tenth Five-Year Plan period, integral experience for natural gas conversion that was suitable to South Shanghai region was summarized through optimizing the planning and layout of natural gas pipeline, retrofitting existing pipeline network and exploiting and practicing the conversion mode of natural gas.
